CRIME NEWS

  • A Vancouver woman was arrested on two second-degree murder charges after she allegedly stabbed her father and cut her mother's throat during an Easter dispute at her home around 5:40 p.m. Sunday, and her arraignment is scheduled for May 5 with bail set at $500,000, court documents show.  KOIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After midnight Tuesday, the Washington House passed three tax bills that change property taxes, add a tax on zero-emission vehicles, and raise rates on large businesses — the measures target revenue for education funding and revised local levy guidelines. Rep. Sharon Wylie of Vancouver defended the bills as necessary to avoid a special session before the 105-day session ends on April 27.  Clark County Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • Veterans in Clark County are finding healing through equine-assisted therapy at Windhaven Veterans Program run by Lifeline Connections, which uses horses to help manage PTSD and rebuild trust. The eight-week group sessions have shown strong results (81% of participants complete the program) and four new veterans will begin this Saturday.  Clark County Today
