- ➤ Vancouver police said they received 57 reports this year of scammers offering fake gold to motorists and urged people to call 911 immediately if they see someone selling what appears to be gold along roadsides. The Oregonian
- ➤ On Wednesday night in Vancouver, deputies responding to a burglary report found a dead man inside a vehicle, later identified as Charles Gardiner (the interim chief of the Cowlitz Tribal Public Safety Department) who reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as investigators continue to probe the case. - ➤ Northbound I-5 near Ridgefield faces delays as crews work on the Exit 14 off-ramp for future commercial development; travelers have already seen an overnight lane closure on Friday and will face daily closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Tuesday until May 9 — drivers can still turn onto Pioneer Street during the work zone.
