- ➤ Clark County Prayer Connect invites residents to join the National Day of Prayer on May 1 from noon+1 p.m. at the Public Service Center gazebo in Vancouver, where participants will pray for local officials, students, businesses, and churches. Clark County Today

- ➤ Washington State University Vancouver invites prospective students to a free Preview Day on May 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at its campus (14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave) where guests will learn about admissions, financial aid and student life. - ➤ Battle Ground High School juniors Charlie Weiner and Jeremiah Norwood have been selected to attend the Air Force Flight Academy this summer and will participate in an eight-week flight training program at Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa. The program — sponsored by Headquarters Air Force Junior ROTC — offers a $22,000 scholarship and marks the sixth consecutive year cadets earn this coveted opportunity. Clark County Today

- ➤ The candidate filing period for Clark County’s 2025 elections will begin on May 5 and continue through May 9 with both online and in-person filing options available at designated offices. Candidates may run for positions such as charter review commissioners, a superior court judge, city and town councils, school district directors, and various district commissions — a public lot drawing for ballot order will be held after 5 p.m. on May 9.
