Good morning, Vancouver.

On May 2, Clark County and its partners held a groundbreaking ceremony for Curtin Creek Community Park in Brush Prairie—marking the start of construction on a 16-acre park that will feature a play area, reservable picnic shelter, trails, and sports courts—set to open in spring 2026.

Washington lawmakers passed the BEAM Act last month, which requires dangerous drivers on probation to have devices that limit speeding — the law follows a fatal Renton crash where a teen driver killed a minivan driver and three children.

Gov. Bob Ferguson is expected to sign the measure soon, and studies show a rising trend in high-speed citations across the state.
