- ➤ A teen from Columbia County was arrested on May 22 for planning a mass shooting at a Kelso mall using a chlorine bomb and faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges — authorities said he had developed detailed plans since early 2025. KOIN
- ➤ Evaristo Junior Vela, 40, stabbed his estranged wife Tiffany Ober and her partner Spencer Ray Jones in Battle Ground on Tuesday before wounding himself; he now faces aggravated murder and first-degree domestic violence charges, is in intensive care at Portland's Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, and detectives later found matching knives during a search of his Vancouver house.
