- ➤ On Wednesday, veterans, families and community leaders gathered at the VA Medical Center in Vancouver to mark 75 years since the Korean War began by placing a wreath and reading the names of 39 local soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. - ➤ Officers found two men shot to death in a parking lot around 3 a.m. Wednesday after a caller reported a potential suicide at the 8600 block of Northwest Erwin O Riger Memorial Highway — police are investigating the incident. The Oregonian

- ➤ Construction begins today at 78th Street Heritage Farm to restore two acres of wetlands and add three acres of vegetated buffer along Cougar Creek’s headwaters. - ➤ A Clark County heat study on July 12, 2024 tracked over 50 volunteers driving 17 routes and found that downtown Vancouver, Orchards, Fourth Plain and Fruit Valley had the hottest afternoons—indicating that densely developed areas reached higher temperatures.
