- ➤ A count on Jan. 30 recorded 1,530 homeless people in Clark County—a 12 percent jump from Jan. 25—that included a 21 percent rise among 133 seniors. The Council for the Homeless said the increase is due to a lack of affordable housing and that 58 percent of those counted were unsheltered, prompting calls for more support services. KOIN
