ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A pedestrian was hit and seriously injured in a crosswalk in Vancouver on Monday night when a driver traveling north on NE St. Johns Road struck the person, and the injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. KOIN

- ➤ A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Vancouver on July 22 for charges of attempted murder, assault and drive-by shooting after a July 11 incident left a man injured and his vehicle hit multiple times—authorities say additional charges may be added as the investigation continues. KOIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal court blocked a Washington law that would have forced priests to report child abuse from confession, stopping Senate Bill 5373 from going into effect on July 27. Judge David Estudillo said the state did not use the least restrictive method to protect children — the U.S. Department of Justice has joined a lawsuit to challenge the measure. KOIN
