A pedestrian was hit and seriously injured in a crosswalk in Vancouver on Monday night when a driver traveling north on NE St. Johns Road struck the person, and the injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Vancouver on July 22 for charges of attempted murder, assault and drive-by shooting after a July 11 incident left a man injured and his vehicle hit multiple times—authorities say additional charges may be added as the investigation continues.

A federal court blocked a Washington law that would have forced priests to report child abuse from confession, stopping Senate Bill 5373 from going into effect on July 27.
