- ➤ Vancouver police are investigating a fatal shooting from July 23 when a suspect entered separate residences on NE 22nd Street, fatally shooting a 77-year-old woman while injuring two men (aged 43 and 74) with no known connection to him, and the suspect was later found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. - ➤ Federal authorities recovered $2.5 million from Vancouver real estate developer Michael James DeFrees for his COVID-19 relief fraud scheme—sold assets include his 2011 Land Rover, 2016 Duckworth boat and other property, recovered more than a year after his February 2024 sentencing. KOIN

- ➤ Clark County is seeking residents to fill four vacancies on its Parks Advisory Board—applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1 for three-year terms starting Jan. 1. - ➤ Clark County is accepting applications to fill two District Court judge seats — Judge Sonya Langsdorf will retire on Sept. 30 and Judge Kelli Osler on Dec. 31, so completed questionnaires must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Aug. 8. Clark County Today
