ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Clark County Medical Examiner confirmed that 16 year old Anthony Tarnoski from Battle Ground drowned in the Columbia River near Frenchman’s Bar last week when he went under while swimming toward a wing dam — witnesses and search teams reported the incident.  Clark County Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington State Patrol crime labs in Vancouver, Tacoma, Seattle and Spokane faced a backlog of over 950 pending firearms tests with a wait time of 54 weeks — the backlog is expected to peak at more than 1,050 cases this summer. The state patrol has added new forensic scientists and expects to reduce the backlog by 35% by next July and 60% by January 2027.  Clark County Today
  • City officials in Camas unanimously approved a new rule banning camping on all public spaces inside the city, expanding a 2022 measure and removing the requirement for law enforcement to help find shelter during citations—this change comes after a July 2024 Supreme Court ruling and as homeless counts increase in Clark County.  KOIN
