- ➤ Evergreen Public Schools delayed the start of the school year by one week after union workers approved a potential strike set for Aug. 26. Classes will begin on Sept. 2 — contract talks with about 1,400 classified employees continue. The Oregonian
- ➤ Evergreen Public Schools will delay the start of its 2025-26 school year until the first week of September to allow more time for union contract talks after support staff voted to strike on August 26—district officials said the delay will help families and staff plan with less daily uncertainty.
