Good morning, Vancouver.

On August 23rd, Vancouver Fire Department and Clark County Fire District 6 responded to a fast-moving brush fire near the 6800 block of NW Dogwood Drive on the east side of Fruit Valley Road—firefighters deployed hose lines and a master stream to control the fire spanning 2 to 5 acres while keeping nearby homes safe.

Today, as schools in Vancouver and Portland open under an Extreme Heat Warning, teachers and administrators are ready to move students indoors and offer extra water breaks if temperatures stay high—plans will be adjusted as conditions change.
