EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ La Center School District will cancel classes from Sept. 8 through Sept. 10 as contract negotiations continue and teachers are on strike. Superintendent Peter Rosenkranz said that if no agreement is reached by Sept. 9, class cancellations will extend for the remainder of the week. KOIN
- ➤ Students at Evergreen and La Center school districts will not return to class on Monday as contract talks with teachers and staff have stalled—Evergreen’s board approved a resolution for potential legal action while La Center cancelled classes for Sept. 8 to Sept. 10 with more days off if no deal is reached by Sept. 9.
