Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 10th of September.
Good morning, Vancouver.
🏘️ Community
An elderly couple who lived in Vancouver for 15 years was evicted yesterday after falling behind on rent when repairs cost more than expected—items including heirlooms and medical equipment were thrown to the street.
Community groups are now helping the family access shelter and medical care.
🎓 Education
Evergreen Public Schools canceled classes today because a strike by 1,400 support staff—such as paraeducators, bus drivers, and service workers—continues after the district retracted its tentative agreement claim.
Negotiators are continuing talks with no clear timeline for when schools will reopen.
