EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Vancouver Association—Educational Support Professionals voted Thursday to back a strike if management and their union do not agree on a new contract. The union, which represents over 800 staff and has been in talks since April, will resume mediation on Friday to address issues like pay and staffing.  KOIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Clark County Council is holding a special meeting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 to interview Megan Peyton and Erin Priest for a District Court seat—created due to Judge Kelli E. Osler's upcoming retirement on Dec. 31. The session will be available in person at the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin St and online via Webex.  Clark County Today
  • Rob Anderson of Reform Clark County withdrew his complaint against four councilors—filed over alleged Open Public Meetings Act violations—after a flaw in his documents was revealed at Clark County Superior Court on Friday. He said he was disappointed by the mistake and noted that Michelle Belkot's federal case against the council continues.  Clark County Today
