- ➤ Nurses and health professionals at Kaiser Permanente in Oregon and Southwest Washington voted on Friday to authorize a strike if talks fail by contract expiration this month — the 97% yes vote came after six months of bargaining over wages and working conditions. The union said it would give Kaiser a 10-day notice before the strike begins if no fair deal is reached. KOIN
