  • Battle Ground Public Schools' annual plant and greenhouse sales will begin on April 26 with student-grown flowers, vegetables and native plants available at three locations—CASEE campus in Brush Prairie, Battle Ground High and Prairie High in Vancouver. The drop-in events will raise funds to support the district’s horticulture and FFA programs.  Clark County Today

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • State and local agencies warned drivers in work zones to slow down as fatal and serious injury collisions increased 17% statewide and 36% in severe injuries due to speeding, tailgating and distracted driving—adding that six rotating Work Zone Speed Cameras will be used this summer to catch speeders.  Clark County Today

  • Brenda Lili Barrera Orantes—owner of La Popular with a branch in Vancouver—has been arraigned for allegedly laundering $18.5 million in drug proceeds from Mexico and Honduras through her money service business after federal search warrants were executed in Beaverton on April 16, federal authorities said.  KOIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rep. Jim Walsh introduced HB 2076 to create the Washington Department of Government Efficiency—known as WA DOGE—to audit state agencies and cut waste by holding back 6% of each agency's budget pending review. The bill was referred today to the House State Government & Tribal Relations Committee and may later be advanced as an initiative if it gains support.  Clark County Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • PeaceHealth and Lifepoint Rehabilitation received state approval to build a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital at 3400 Main Street in Vancouver. Demolition of the old PeaceHealth Memorial Urgent Care building is expected this fall—while construction on the new facility is projected to finish mid-2027.  Clark County Today
